Dear Patriot,
I was wondering, what's a good way to honor our veterans? I mean, there was a ceremony in our town on Memorial Day, and I planned to go, cause I feel it's important to attend things like that, but because of things that came up, I was not able to make it this year, and I am kinda sad. I personally know of several men and women who were in the military, and I am sure there are many more in my church. I would like to do something to honor them, and since I did not make it to the festivities yesterday, I would like to do something soon. Of course Veteran's Day is later this year, but I would like to do something before then. What do you suggest?

Dear Wondering,
Thanks for your question, and relax. There's no need to go to any great length to honor the veterans that you know. What would reach them more than anything else, in my opinion, is a simple thanks for their service, delivered personally. It could just be verbal. Just greet them and express thanks for their having served us all. I guarantee you'll get a smile and a hearty "You're welcome". You may even get a "thank you" in return. It's often the small things in life that touch us the most.
God bless you,
The Patriot
